February is Flying By!

The shortest month surely has been a snowy one.  We're not letting that stop us!
Get ready to be amazed at how much has been happening in the preschool classes.

We learned about Chinese New Year.

Thank you for reading to us and teaching us about the Chinese zodiac.

Chinese Lion Dance part of the Chinese New Year Celebration coordinated by one of our MLT parents!

Students talked about teeth with a denist for National Children's Dental Health Month.

Thank you to Dr. Tumenik and his staff who came out to visit the students.
There were valentine preparations....

 and we had valentine celebrations...

Thanks to Emerald Bakery for providing the time, materials and skill for this activity.

We also learned about President's Day.

Last but not least, to close out Black History Month the PTO sponsored a visit from the New Haven School of African Drumming.  We enjoyed the djembe.

We have many exciting activities planned for next month.  We'll start with a Dr. Seuss author study and end the month with a visit from a well known children's author and illustrator.  Thanks for checking in!

The MLT PTO Valentine Children’s Fair

Thanks so much to everyone that helped support the PTO's biggest fundraiser.  It was amazing!   Don't believe me?  See for yourself.....

I found familiar friends in the craft rooms.

Enjoying the festive coloring  pages.

Assembling cute teddy bear decorations.

Making custom design scratch masks.

There was also face painting.

Nail painting.

Of course there were the games...

Tickets were awarded and traded for prizes.

The best part for these guys was a Mr. Brady sighting.

The kids worked up an appetite.

What was for lunch?  Chicken nuggets of course!  These kids were hungry after all that fun and excitement.  The best part was the "decorate your own cupcake" that was enjoyed after lunch.

Silent Auction, Raffle Baskets, Cake Walk, Nail Painting & Tattoos, Crafts, Games, Cupcake Decorating
The Children's Valentine's Fair was so fun and really lucky for this little one!

Officer Kosh and Max Visit Pre-K on Sports Day

What could be more exciting than Sports Day?  A visit from OPD on Sports Day!   Our School Resource Officer, Officer Kosh, came to MLT with his K-9 Max.

It was a quick visit but we all enjoyed meeting Max.  He had his favorite toy with him and many of the students took the opportunity to pet his soft fur.    We can't wait until they come to visit again in the spring.

What else did we do on Sports Day?
For our fine motor center we each laced an oval football.

We were ready for the day wearing our sports shirts and
check out our flags!

GO TEAM!

So you might be wondering where are the nachos?

Fresh out of the oven - tortilla chips and cheese.  YUMMY!
