Our Trip To Maple View Farm

We saw signs of spring all over town when we visited the farm earlier this week.  Our visit to see our neighbors, Mr. & Mrs. Clark, at Maple View Farm was fun for everyone.  See for yourself...

Ms. Winkle picked us up with the BIG bus which was so very exciting for our friends (they didn't mind that it was less than a half mile ride).

Did I mention how excited the children were?

We saw Jacob sheep 

There were also very cute black rabbits.

Then we saw the beautiful horses.

Pretty cool right?

Next there was the wagon ride.

Update

We are closing in on a super fun "P" week!  We played with Mr. Potato Head, we each got to use the Starfall App on the ipad, we made pudding and tomorrow we will be making pancakes!  

Everyday when we go outside we are looking for signs of spring.  Hope you can find some too when you are outside with your family. 

March Madness

We had a lot of fun reading many of Dr.Seuss's books this month.   Nurse Kara stopped by just in time to talk about the letter N and read us her favorite book,  Dr. Seuss' s ABC.  

St. Patrick's day was a green day as expected. 

We all wore green.

We enjoyed a special green snack of rice krispy treats with green sprinkles (compliments of Jake Bogy's mom - thank you!).

Thanks to CJ's mom we also ate healthy green grapes (that were cut in half).   Thanks room moms for taking such good care of us!  It was a fun snack.  

Miss Liza surprised us with a visit and read us a St. Patrick's Day Story.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Friday March 1st was Read Across America Day.   This nationwide observance that promotes reading and coincides with the birthday of Dr. Seuss.  We celebrated with a special Mystery Reader (of course!).  

Ann Marie DePetto came from our Central Office to read us her favorite Dr. Seuss book, McElligot's Pool.  This is one of Dr. Seuss' earlier books.  It was first published in 1947!   We liked hearing about all the different kinds of fish little Marco was hoping to catch while he was fishing in McElligot's Pool! Thanks Ann Marie.

The Djembe!

In honor of Black History Month, our school PTA sponsored a  visit from  the New Haven School of African Dance and Drumming.  One member came all the way from the Republic of Guinea in West Africa.   These gentlemen

 shared  West African dance and storytelling with us.   We loved it.  

We danced.

We played on the djembe (jim-bay)!

We clapped our hands.

We had an amazing time.  Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen.  It was a fantastic experience for all of us!

Fast February

Fun February is flying by! Hope everyone is shoveled out from all that snow! We've had a couple of busy days. We came back to school just in time for Valentine's Day on Thursday. Thank you Mrs. Visnic for sending in a special snack for us. We all enjoyed making modified strawberry shortcakes. Cookies topped with some whipped cream and delicious red strawberries. Yum!

On Friday Dr. Opin stopped by with his therapy dog Cooper. We've never had an animal visitor before, so that was really exciting! Thank you for visiting pre-k Dr. Gary!

Our Mystery Reader this week was one of our helpers from the front office, Miss Jane Gallagher. She read us a special Valentine's Day book titled, "Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse!". Thanks Jane!

The Valentine's Day Fair was a SUCCESS!  Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun and the MLT PTO raised over ten thousand dollars!!!  Thank you to everyone who helped out by volunteering your time,  baking, or donating raffle items or by visiting the fair.  This is the only picture I have from the fair.  My charming son enjoying his cake walk prize.
